TFR105 Syllabus
Course summary: The purpose of TFR 105 is to combine, synthesize, and analyze knowledge of multiple areas of study to determine the precise location of the 2012-2013 Taylor Family Reunion. Professor Corey, Professor Niki, Teaching Assistant Charlotte and Lab Monkey Peter will post lessons from time to time on the Taylor Family Reunion Blog, but such lessons are guaranteed to be neither instructive nor informative. This class is intended to draw from your life experiences as well as your ability to utilize the resources at your disposal.
Course guidelines:
1. Coursework will be assigned on the Taylor Family Reunion Blog.
2. Completed coursework should be turned in to Professor Niki at nikistringer@gmail.com.
3. All answers will be graded and subsequently posted on the blog.
4. Any questions regarding coursework should be posted as comments in the blog, and they will be answered there as well.
5. Each assignment will have one question that asks the location of the Taylor Family Reunion. We will not post your answer to this question on the blog – it will remain confidential. We also will not reveal whether your guess was correct until July 1, 2012.
6. The first workgroup (see below) to correctly guess the location (country, city, state, and location within the city – the more specific, the better) will win a prize. We will not announce the winner of the prize until July 1. To qualify for the prize, however, you must fully complete all of your assignments on time. There is no extra credit and there are no make-up assignments.

So I get the GR, TC, DC, & PA. OT = Old Timers? But SC?
ReplyDeleteLOL, I assumed SC meant Stony Creek and wondered the same about OT. Do the professors want to confirm?
ReplyDeleteI second the pick for Team DC:-)
p.s. that video reminds me a lot of my courses at GW. Lots of cats and kids running around.
ReplyDeleteBring on the TFR!!!! What fun this will be!!!
ReplyDeleteAunt Martha
Team PA will take Miss Nelson is Missing!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Barb....can I come to the bookmobile and reserve this for your brother and me??? xoxoxox
Mom, I think I Am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe is what is left... but Katie and I might be willing to switch with you and dad... for a price:-)
ReplyDeleteAlrighty then... The PA Taylors have I think I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe!!! Let me google this Erin and I will get back to you on your generous request!!
ReplyDeleteTeam OT? Team Oakland Township!
ReplyDeleteProfessor Corey
And yes, Team SC is for Team Stoney Creek. ; )
ReplyDeleteProfessor Niki
And dear, sweet, Aunt Martha, please please please don't actually read "I Am Charlotte Simmons" or else you might be so horrified that you let your children go away to college that you will drive yourself nuts. Fun fact: Tom Wolfe's daughter was a couple years behind me at Duke and he actually did quite a bit of his research for the setting of the book at Duke. ; )
ReplyDeleteOh! And we heard Tom do a reading from this book before it was published at Duke's Parents' Weekend during the fall of my senior year. He is one wacky guy.
ReplyDeletehahah Niki! So I googled the summary on this book on my school computer where there are filters...red flag....no no filters...and so now I am waiting to hear from admin that I ventured into the questionable zone with this search!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh MY!!!!
Just kidding!!! REALLY JUST KIDDING!!!! hahahaha Making Uncle Doug read this!!!! :)
If Dave and Lisa read this book- Ellie will be living at home for the rest of her life!
ReplyDeleteBwahahaha
It just wouldn't be one of the Tennessee Stringer's creations unless there was something questionable involved!!
ReplyDeleteJust for all to know - Team OT has completed Assignment 1. Answers has been submitted to Professor Niki and we are awaiting results that our guess for the TFR location is the correct guess.....
ReplyDeleteThe TC Taylor's had to have points deducted for the timeliness of our first assignment but assignment #2 is now in, and with a most excellent guess.
ReplyDeleteTeam OT reports that assignment #2 is in. We deserve extra points because Larry did this research with one eye! :)
ReplyDeleteOnce again, we think our guess is the correct guess....
It has stopped snowing in Traverse City so we've put down our shovels and are ready for the next assignment. Bring it on!
